#The Anthem of the ANC
Date: 1999/06/17
Hurrah, hurrah, we're ANC The masters of democracy We take no nonsense, take no fuss Everyone must vote for us If you don't, you can be sure You'll soon be stuck in deep manure If not in plaster, or in traction Resulting from our rolling action. The way we work is very plain YOU keep us on the gravy train While WE, you can be sure, will see That we ensure delivery. Some will get expensive cars Others fancy fine cigars There's this to some, and that, to others Delivery to all the brothers. There's some like going overseas But not alone - TWO tickets, please And if caught out, well, hip, hooray! No work - suspended, on full pay. And don't forget, defend yourself Along with all your purloined wealth By crying, "'Cause I'm black you see, It's racism, accusing ME." So make your buck, but make it quick For all the while the clock doth tick Who knows, the voters may get a wake-up Or Thabo might produce a shake-up. High office is our only chance By which we hope we can advance 'Cos if for real work we're looking, It's back to gardening and cooking. Hurrah, hurrah, we're ANC The masters of democracy Climb aboard the party bus Or it could be the worse for us We recognise the things we like And if we don't, then - take a hike And be assured, it's NOT mere rumour, It's fact: We have NO sense of humour.
