Professor Isosceles Vilikazi, the well-known inventor, academic and political observer, has reacted to accusations that he owes millions of Zimdollars to the private foundation that funded his research into anti-malarial prophylactics.

The device, which Vilikazi hopes will earn millions in hard currency for the country, is a condom for mosquitoes.

"It's simple, cheap, and easy," explained the Professor. "You slip the condom on, and - voila! - no more malaria!"

Asked to clarify his statement, Professor Vilikazi explained that "Voila!" is something that Frenchmen say when they get excited.

When it was pointed out that most Zimbabweans are not au fait with the langue de l'amour, the Professor suggested that the journalists could perhaps simply translate the bon mot into either siNdebele or chiZezuru, and render it as "Hau!"

As to the allegations of indebtedness, the Professor observed that he could not possibly be in Dett, because at the time he was in Nyamandhlovu.
