NEW PARTY FOR ZIM: VILIKAZI SPEAKS
NEWS REPORT: Speculation about the formation of a new political party in Zimbabwe
Date: 2000/02/01
Professor Isosceles Vilikazi of Nyamandhlovu, the well known academic,
inventor, and political observer, was today interviewed on the subject of
the new political party to be headed by trade union boss Morgan Tsvangirai.
On the question of the party's likely success, the professor had this to say:
"I cannot speak with much authority on this particular party, as my
invitation appears to have been lost in the post.
"However, as a general rule, for a party to be successful, there must be
plenty of food and booze. Free booze. A cash bar is simply not acceptable.
"It is also important to have the right music - preferably a live band.
"Of course, with the current fuel crisis, many people may be unable to get
there, in which case the party will be dead in the water from the word 'go'.
If there is any water."
