The Nyamandhlovu Cleft Stick and Messenger reports that the decision to
postpone was NOT taken in consultation with his Excellency President Robert
Gabriel Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
Comrade Mugabe is most upset, as he was looking forward to the feast. The
cupboard back in Harare is looking a little bare, and Mugabe was hoping to
be able to tuck into CHOGM's caviare and asparagus for a week, rather than
have to keep on digging into his own private supply.
He has sent a message to Australia, pointing out that the food must have
already been ordered, and offered to turn up anyway, along with a few other
African presidents who prefer jetting about the world to staying at home in
their own countries.
So far the Australians have turned red about the jowls, and spluttered a
bit, but they have not officially responded.
