The Nymandhlovu Cleft Stick and Messenger reports that the planned
toenadering between the National Party and the ANC has run into serious
problems.

While the NP members are desperate to hold on to their cushy political jobs,
and the ANC is desperate to have the NP votes in the Western Cape, the whole
plan is in imminent danger of collapse, because the parties cannot agree
over where to hang the photograph of Hendrik Verwoerd.
